  • Comments Thread For: Juan Urango Returning After Two Years on April 26th

Former junior welterweight champion Juan Urango (22-3-1, 17KOs), 31-years-old, will return to the ring on April 26th in Mexico City. The strong Colombian puncher has been inactive for two years. He was last seen on March 6, 2010 - when Devon Alexander knocked him out in the eight round of a unification bout. In his first fight back, Urango will face Cristian Chavez (23-18, 11KOs). In his recent fights, Chavez has been fighting around 147, which may or may not be Urango's weight for the contest.

Yes! Great to have him back in 140-147. Urango was definitely too young to retire permanently.

Too much was made of the Alexander KO. Urango was rocked but he got back up.

Oh and the Bailey fight was great. I'll never know how he got back up from that punch.

The man is a tank and will definitely test fighter's hearts.

Now someone needs to alert Ricardo Torres to come back as well. Both from Colombia.
