Comments Thread For: Roach: Paris Got What He Deserved From Zab Judah

Trainer Freddie Roach was impressed by Zab Judah's recent TKO victor over previously undefeated Vernon Paris, which took place on Mach 24th at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn, New York. Judah (49-7, 29KOs) dominated the fight and stopped Paris (26-1, 15KOs) in the ninth round of action. Judah was coming off a July 2011 fifth round KO loss to Amir Khan, who Roach trains.

Doesn't change the fact that Judah is garbage.

Paris lost it more than Judah won it.

Kick them while they're down, pour salt into the wound, and twist the knife. Freddie cries about his sorrowful condition, as in poor Freddy, when people poke fun at him, but he has no problem ragging on other people. Everybody gets what they deserve, Freddy, and thats a fact.

Losing the fight that badly will only increase Paris' chances of someday landing a Khan fight.

He would fit the profile for one of Amir's optional defenses should he ever win another title belt.

I agree with Roach, Paris thought Judah was washed up and he was going to put him out to pasture rather easily. Paris had a good win on FNF last year, but I haven't seen any other fights of his. The kid appears to have talent, but not the maturity and dedication to compete against the higher ups (I wouldn't call Judah elite). Perhaps this fight will be a blessing for him in the long run. I hope so because boxing needs all the young fighters it can get.
