these kinds of topics always remind me of celebrities who get themselves involve into american politics. anytime they do, half of americans hate them. which is not really good if you're sensitive about your image in public. america is split right in the middle. remember the dixie chicks? they started out okay, but when they expressed opposition to the bush war all hell broke loose for them. they never recovered. in maynever's case he can actually recover even just some portion of it by doing the right thing. but he keeps ****ing up. he's at a retirable age in the sport and he still acts like he's a goddamn teenager.

This is one of the ******est things I have ever read. So because Floyd didn't set up a tri-pod and a camera before he did what he was accused of it never happened? So his kids just decided to tell the police what they saw because Floyd wouldn't take them out for ice cream that day? I wasn't aware that Floyd just randomly pleads guilty and does jail time for made up things.

The reason most people take a plea deal is because they know that the evidence is stacked against them and realize if they don't plea it will most likely be worse in court. You think a public figure like Floyd would agree to do jail time, knowing it would hurt his public image and cost him endorsement deals, if there was no incriminating evidence against him? Get a clue and get of your boys nuts.

I think the truth is that he started to get that respect after Hatton (who by the way was also not at his "natural weight"), but then he retired, and then he didn't do everything that he could to give the fans the only fight that they really wanted. True boxing fans appreciate his style and ability to dominate, but casual fans only remember your last fight and whether it was exciting or not. The casual fan is never going to love a fighter that could go for the KO and chooses not to take the risks associated with it.
marquez asked to come up in weight he wasnt asked... but i feel u

Honestly most people who never been to the United States can easily label all Americans act just like Floyd Mayweather Jr. If Floyd represented himself in a positive way and not so ****y.....I would support him 100%.

In the US if you touch a woman during an argument it is considered assault.

You could literally grab her to hug her and tell her to calm down as you embrace her, and if she called the police afterwards and told them that you did that against her will you would be locked up.

Floyd already represents himself in a positive way.

He's a winner. In fact he's the most accomplished winner of this era.

He does charity. He gives away money to the homeless and the less fortunate.

He has led the charge to do away with PEDs in the sport. Many other boxers have since adopted Floyd's stance and request that their opponent's be tested.

He supports other fellow boxing greats and their families in times of financial need.

Floyd doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs and spoken out against them to children.

Floyd is a family man and you'll always see him surrounded by his family and his friends.

Floyd isn't going to pretend to be a saint because he isn't one. No man is. Floyd has never claimed to not have made mistakes or used poor judgement. How could he? We've all seen 24/7.

Only Pacquiao pretends to be righteous and talks to God while laying with **********s.

If floyd did the SRL/ODH thing he'd be loved but be worth a lot less. He did it his way and got paid but doesn't have the love that comes with the fake image. America embraces humble athletes nowadays. And floyd damn sure aint humble.
