Comments Thread For: Cotto's Trainer Not Impressed By Mayweather's Sparring

Cuban trainer Pedro Luis Diaz was not impressed or intimidated by the recent sparring video which showed Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs) putting in a few rounds of work with Omar Henry. Diaz is training WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto for a fight with Mayweather on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Lol, not the sort of thing you want to blurt out. If Mayweather catches wind of this, it'll only make him want to train harder and put more hurt on Cotto.

When fighting someone like Mayweather you have a better chance against him keeping quiet, and hoping he takes training easy. Don't rile him up. That's definitely the wrong thing to do!

Floyd by 7th round TKO...Floyd throwing just as many punches as he did against Marquez+the power and pressure he had against Ortiz= a TKO with ANYONE he gets in the ring with...only person who can last 12 rounds is Martinez...everyone else gets stopped...that pressure, that new power, all them damn punches?...Oh no, WarMayweather!

His trainer can't fight for him. So no matter what no one says, it comes down to the two fighters at the end of the day," said Mayweather.

Mayweather said: "You cant get in there and fight for the fighters, the fighters have to fight. Its a one on one sport. My trainer cant fight for me, his ...

Well me personally, whether Cotto's trainer runs his mouth or not, Floyd will always train one way. Hard as hell. So it doesn't matter what Diaz says. Even if he said nothing, Floyd would have trained hard as hell.

FM's not putting anything out to help Cotto...nothing he's "working" on...FM to win, & if he gets himself out of his 1,2,3 comfort zone & gets big combos going he can stop Cotto late...
