Closer fight than what the scorecards read especially considering they were in Garcia's favor. I had him winning but didnt think the scoring would go against the legend.
Garcia should have stopped Morales with relative ease. Erik is a hell of a boxer, but if Garcia was more active and threw the straight right more often, he could've had a break out performance.

hate that open scoring but I also couldn't believe the scores .... Morales had a decent start but the scoring was in favor of Garcia ... must have been a downer for Morales from the get go.

I think Morales should just retire for good now. He's had a great career and will be in the HOF one day. He wasn't beat up in this fight and gave a good account of himself but his defense is still leaky and he still has the warrior's mentality. Sooner or later it's going to end up with him taking a beating.

I had it 116 to 112 for Garcia both these guys fought well. I give Erik a lot of credit for fighting a young fighter like Garcia. As for Garcia he needs to throw more punches. I would like to see him fight agains't Zab Judah at 140 next.

Rican or not who really gives a *****? We're talking about a wrongfully stripped title that was given as a gift to an old legend. Congratz Garcia you did boxing a favor, by finally sealing the deal, (Morales your done!!!).

Time for Garcia to make some $$$. Right before the knockdown Morales was surging and busting Danny up and Danny looked like he was struggling. Danny turned the fight around with talent and determination. The knockdown punch reminded me of the punch with which Haya knocked Salido down with except that Garcia's wasn't a lucky punch. He turned his body almost totally to the side before he landed. Danny should have a few easy fights to make cash and more importantly, get more skilled.

That just shows that the Texas commission is just as shady!!
I guess he's the "Go To Judge" if you catch my drift.
If you're fighters gets himself into a jam, bam! 5 rounds in teh bank.

What a great fight!!! True of most Morales fights for sure.
The fight was a close one I don't know what some of those judges were watching. Morales was starting to come on and Danny was finally feeling the pain when he got that good shot in. Good for him.
The only bad part is Morales was a fat ass mofo.... Its clear he still has what it takes physically he just doesn't want to put in the work in training.
Did he say he was retiring?
