According to sources in Denmark and the United States, the World Boxing Council has approved a "WBC silver title fight at light heavyweight" - for Mikkel Kessler when he returns on May 19 in Copenhagen. Kesslerīs opponent is said to be Allan Green. It will be the Viking Warriorīs debut at 175 and his first fight since June of last year.

Was in camp with Green a few years in South Florida and I always expected more from him. He seems to be the type of fighter who often left his best stuff in the gym. Him and Kessler were supposed to fight a few years back as part of the Super Six but I think Kessler had an eye injury. Interesting fight and I'm hoping Green can give a good account of himself...

i think kessler's slowed down but he's got the sort of style and power and chin that will last for at least a few more fights.
green's handspeed and length and big steps will give him a bit of trouble for a round or two, but i expect him to be putting the leather on green after a few rounds.

i'd love to see him bust some of the rust off with green (and bust green up,) and then maybe fight dirrell, johnson, rodriguez, or froch again
