Comments Thread For: Bloodworth Wants Adamek Bulked Up To 230-Pounds

The most significant thing trainer Roger Bloodworth and Tomasz Adamek took away from Adamek’s lopsided loss to Vitali Klitschko is that Adamek had to add more mass if he is to be more successful against huge heavyweights.

Oh definitely he should weigh more. That way those punches that don't land will make more of an impact.

Bulking up will only make him lose stamina and speed. Maybe he will be a bit stronger but he will never be a solid heawyweight no matter what he weighs.

I always felt this was a big mistake. All it's gonna do is affect his speed, his mobility, his stamina which looked mediocre a few years ago at 222 agaisnt Estrada.

Adamek should not be over 215.He won't ever be a big HW so there is no point for this.

Dumb idea, if he needs to bulk up to be successful at HW he certainly doesn't belong there. I think it would hurt more than help putting on extra weight, he is never going to be some huge puncher anyway at HW no matter how much weight he puts on.

              This made me laugh.

I agree. Adamek shouldn't gain weight; it'll detract from his game at heavyweight which is speed and better boxing technique/footwork. Added weight would have just gotten him hit more against Klitschko. Wouldn't have helped his offense at all.

                The Pole

Adamek can go up to 250 lbs that won't make him a heavyweight. slow deliberate easy to hit dumb. a loss waiting to happen. Has Poland ever won anything??

First of all, he's being badly advised. He's a CW at best.

He has shown no power whatsoever at HW, and in fact the success that he's had was because of his agility and movement. Bulking up further is not the answer, dropping down to CW is his best hope at a belt.

That said there are enough mediocre HWs out there for him to get a top ranking quite easily and hence another mega pay check against a Klitschko.

First it was 225 now 230? That's ridiculous. Adamek simply doesn't have the frame to be a heavyweight. He's naturally lean with narrow shoulders and smallish joints. CW was his upper limit. At HW his punching power became shockingly bad, and his once excellent chin became merely average. Despite this he was still able to win fights due to his superior speed, workrate and general technique... Oh crap, why am I even typing this? It's obvious to everyone.
