Comments Thread For: Suspend the Judges?: Weekend Review and Ratings Update

Pernell Whitaker entered the San Antonio Alamadome in 1993 and laid down a masterclass against Julio Cesar Chavez. He left with a draw. Paulie Malignaggi complained, openly and loudly, about the judging situation of his first bout with Juan Diaz in Houston, in 2009...before the opening bell. In a fight many saw Malignaggi winning, Gale Van Hoy had him losing ten rounds.

What Chisora has done has probably derailed a few fights down the line. Nobody will look at him the same again.

However, the man is as tough as a brick ****house and fears nobody. Indeed, a breath of fresh air in an era of Heavyweight's that don't want to test themselves against other big names.

I take it you are a biggish (right word?) fan of Del Boy, Cliff?

The two judges who stole Campillo's title and gave it to Shumenov in Vegas are two of the busiest judges in boxing, so nothing will be done. What New Jersey did was a very rare exception. Most promoters probably love corrupt judges because they stay bought

Yep. The amount of judges, refs etc who have shown serious, heinous corruption that was downright brutal and obvious, that are still out there judging championship fights consistently is huge.

Boxing has a short memory. That's why it happens so often without the slightest glitch. Someone else with greed and $ ambition will just replace DK so.....boxing
