Comments Thread For: Team Campillo To File IBF Protest Over Cloud Decision

Sampson Lewkowicz, promoter of Gabriel Campillo (21-4-1, 8KOs), plans to file an official protest with the International Boxing Federation [IBF] on Monday. Lewkowicz, along with Campillo and the boxer's co-promoter Lou Dibella, will dispute Saturday's twelve round split decision loss to IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud (24-0, 19KOs), which took place at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Has there ever been a robbery overturned to a NC after a protest?

I know fights like Bradley-Campbell, Dawson-Hopkins, have been overturned but those were not robberies to begin with.

I've never seen a robbery been changed and I doubt it happens now. The sport of boxing is not responsible enough to do something like that.

I think it's worth a shot. But I doubt they will get anything from it, maybe a re-match.

The fact that one judge had it 116-110 is ridiculous. Only one of the judges had it right, while the other 2 had their heads up their asses. I was hoping that Campillo would try to finish Cloud, but even then, he had done enough to win the fight.

Too bad this never works. The most that comes out of it is the judges getting punished, but that doesn't give Campillo the belt he won.

It's sad that we all know this ahead of time. I hope Marcos was watching this, and feels even more motivated to make sure he stops Alexander, because he could win every round and still lose a decision.

Promoters, managers and boxers need to stay out of Texas...commisssioner ****ie Cole & his regime controls everything, including judges as seen by 2 judges scores, especially David Robertson, who should be suspended 4 life...

I find it hysterical that Denny Nelson of all the judges gets it right. I guess he finally got kickbacks from Don King cancelled. The other two judges need to be fired on the spot. Those are pathetic score cards and they have no business being near a ring, nor does it seem like they ever have been with those scores.

If this isn't a Don King pay job on judges, I don't know what is. As soon as Campillo took over the fight, and by the 5th, if he didn't KO Cloud, there was no way on the planet a Don King fighter was going to get lose via the score cards.

The IBF won't do anything but maybe order an immediate rematch. Which, doesn't do anything about the Don King situation.
