Comments Thread For: Daniel Santos is Not Impressed, Wants Canelo Alvarez

The former junior middleweight champion of the WBA, Daniel Santos (32-4-1, 23 KO's) has surprisingly not fought since losing his title to Yuri Foreman in 2009. He makes it clear that he hasn't retired from boxing and wants to face Mexico's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (39-0-1, 29KOs) for the WBC's championship at 154-pounds.

This guy sounds like an absolute joke. Cause fear? Opponents who dare face you? You haven't fought since 2009 when you got your ass out boxed by Yuri Foreman, STFU.

      I think I know what's happening!

Golden Boy and Suliman (WBC) realized they have a dream matchup for Canelo. Right under their nose they have the perfect opponent for Canelo!

Here is an OLDER, EX-champion that is PAST his Prime, LOST his last fight, is OVER WEIGHT and doesn't represent a REAL challenge.

Most likely than not, GDP promotions have given Santos instruction to start shooting his mouth in the media therefore when Suliman gives Santos the #1 ranking and the opportunity to fight for the WBC Uranium Depleted Di-lithium Gold Championship Belt that requires no Drug testing and only Canelo can defend against a Tecate Been Can.

      What a joke!

Really, Santos??? Lol. Not a chance, but it does fit chavez and canelos opponent must haves old innactive shot former champs and hasn't won a fight in over 3 years... Santos was a good solid fighter in his prime, never great but good, his flat footed style prevented him from being more than that . Just like Quintana, and Cintron, a bad lost to bad luck followed by long periods of innactivity and ring rust ruined their careers.

Where Duddy, Zbik, Manfredo and Veneno Rubio where that?, and also now Andy Lee or Martin Murray fit that description?

this is a terrible fight, the only way this can be good is if it's in neutral territory and if Santos can even make weight, by good meaning a fight where the other guy actually punches back and doesn't fold into a defensive shell everytime he gets jabbed. if this was a PRIME Daniel Santos though all you Archie fans would more reasons to worry, at this point Canelo can whisper in his ear and shatter his ear drum, pat him on the back and rupture his shoulder, shake his hand and crush his knuckles etc you feel me, Daniel Santos is simply not the same fighter anymore and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled a Tomas Rojas and sold himself in this fight
