Comments Thread For: Casimero-Lazarte Post Riot Will Be Probed By The IBF

INTERNATIONAL Boxing Federation Championship Committee chairman Lindsey Tucker is waiting for the report of IBF supervisor Anibal Miramontes on the ugly riot that broke out after Filipino Johnriel Casimero won the light flyweight interim title with a 10th-round technical knockout of former champion Luis Lazarte at Estadio Club Once Unidos, Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina on Saturday.

With the way Tucker is answering, this incident is going to be swept under the rug. But to me, it looks like Argentina though isn't going to see any title fights anytime soon.

What an absolutely ridiculous response by Tucker. While you can't be held responsible for "some drunk fans causing a riot", your organization is ultimately responsible for ensuring the safety of everyone involved.

There is a perception in the boxing community that all these alphabet organizations do is collect sanctioning fees. Tucker's response just perpetuates that notion.
