Comments Thread For: Zabala Says Vazquez Jr. on Point, No Issues With Weight

On Friday, the boxing commission in Puerto Rico released information that Wilfredo "Papito" Vazquez Jr. failed to make weight for his seven day pre-fight weigh-in. Vazquez is continuing to train for his February 4th fight against Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire. The vacant WBO super bantamweight title will be up for grabs when the two fighters face each other in San Antonio, Texas. [Click Here To Read More]

Team Vasquez is not telling the truth and it is simple to prove. No one EVER eats and then works out right afterward!! That person would be puking, cramping, and risking a heart attack!! What they are saying here does not add up!!!

This sounds a little fishy. Is the Puerto Rican boxing commission going to let this guy off the hook just because he is Puerto Rican, and because of who his dad is?

His father said that Jr told him that he wasnt eating breakfast to make weight. However, I can understand two to three pounds but all not that. It is going to be hard for him to loose 10 pounds in a week.

BTW, the WBO said that is a recommendation not a requirement.

Is not a requirement is a recommendation, and they left Hugo Cazarez of the hook and a couple other Mexicans.

Ok. That's good then, because he is way over the recommendation.
