Comments Thread For: Pacquiao-Cotto Held Up By Weight, Mayweather is Not

The race continues to secure the services of WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto. Gabriel Peņagaricano, Cotto's legal advisor, is currently discussing two lucrative deals for the Puerto Rican star. Cotto could possibly face Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, or he could face Manny Pacquiao in a rematch on June 9th.

Pac wants Mayweather at 147. He said he would take the lesser share, that he would fight on may 5th and that he would under go random blood and urine tests...

Pac needs to get control of his team and inform Bob of HIS wishes....

Who will Manny fight if Cotto signs to fight Floyd? What will Arum do then?

Glad to hear Cotto wants no part of Manny's weight-draining games. Of course, if Arum sweetens the purse I'm sure Cotto will bend.

148lbs for the 154lbs title, you go girl!

Of course there's no weight issue with Floyd. He already beat a jr middleweight champ,( a real 1).

He doesn't need to fabricate fights to win, unlike team arum & Pacman.

I agree. Why should Cotto be forced to come in under weight when he is the title holder? Arum just wants to drain Cotto so Manny will have all the advantages.

Pretty soon we may just have a heavyweight champ weigh it at 155 lbs for a catch-weight title defense.
