British/Commonwealth super middleweight champion George Groves wants an all-British showdown with former world champion Carl Froch in 2013. Groves defends his British title against Kenny Anderson at Wembley on 16th of March in a rematch of their 2010 bout, which Groves won via a stoppage.

Who knows where Froch is going to be in 2013? He might lose to Bute next, and then he might lose to Kessler again. Or Cleverly. Or Ward again. Why call out a guy who might be 0-3 in his last three fights by the time you're ready to fight him?

Froch's top dog in the Uk at the moment so he's going to get targeted by the guys coming through.

Cleverly and Groves want a piece and it's understandable. These fights can happen next year for both hopefully but they very much need to make a name for themselves and prove themselves first.

In the meantime - Froch will continue to look at the elite guys of the SMW division.

Whilst I'm sure he'd like the fight next year, it's publicity for himself to call Froch out for next year regardless of what happens to Froch.

He's the main name in the UK even though he got dominated by Ward so the other up and coming guys are going to use his name.
