Comments Thread For: Shane McPhilbin Sensational in Stoppage of Leon Williams

York Hall, London - In an absolutely sensational ending, unheralded Shane McPhilbin (8-2, 5 KOs) overcame the nightmare of suffering two knockdowns in the first half of the battle, to get a fascinating, come-from-behind stoppage of British cruiserweight champion Leon Williams (9-4, 4 KOs) with just seventy seconds remaining in the fight.

As some might know i have a new blog that collects scorecards from the best boxing sites... http://fightscorecollector.blogspot.com

I am currently working through the site looking for scores so i can compare them to all the other sites etc.

How did you all have this fight at the time of stoppage???

I had it 106-99 to Williams before Mcphilbin stopped him in the 12th

Thanks to everybody that takes part.....

ps: thanks to mr jakendabox for letting me do this

That was a pretty amazing come from behind win. Unbelievable that the guy took the fight on short notice, and it was his first fight above 6 rounds (6x2 rounders, that is). The fight itself was somewhat lackluster, but the way McPhilbin managed to win it in the 12th was pretty phenomenal.

Incredible bout. I would have given you 100/1 on a McPhilbin win at the start of the 12th.

It was a scrappy bout, but entertaining(ish).

Matty Askin & Tony Conquest would (probably) beat both of them.

But the British Heavyweight & Cruiserweight scene are very entertaining at the moment. Not full of World Class but both have 4 or 5 decent fighters at a similar level.
