Juan Mercedes (26-3, 17 KOs), ranked at number four by the WBO at bantamweight, may land a title shot against Mexico's Jorge 'Travieso' Arce, according to Mercedes' promoter Peter Rivera of PR Best Boxing Promotions. Arce was scheduled to have a rematch with Lorenzo Parra, but the WBO rejected the fight. The sanctioning body refused to approve Parra on the basis of him not being ranked in the top fifteen of the WBO. Arce returns on February 18th in Durango, Mexico.

Mercdes record is deceiving as he's really not a puncher in any form, has always been @ 112 & @ 115 a year or so...just a blown up flywt % I don't believe he's ranked @ 118...just a keep busy bout for Arce, no danger here...
