Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Marquez Return Eyed For March 17 in Mexico

If Manny Pacquiao takes a pass on a fourth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez (53-6, 39KOs), then the Mexican boxer may possibly headline a show on March 17th at a new venue in Mexico City, according to promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions. One possible opponent for the March fight is former lightweight champion David Diaz (36-4-1, 17KOs), who was once in the running to face Marquez in 2011.

If this year will really be the year that Marquez hangs em up I would really prefer to see him in the ring with someone other than David Diaz. Bradley, Rios, Soto, Maidana or Gurerro. Any 3 of them would be a great way to end an excellent career. Ok maybe any 2 of them and David Diaz, that's a tough year for anyone let alone a 38 year old lol

This is a crap fight!!! Diaz just recently got beat up n ko'd. Marquez shouldve took the morales fight instead and cotto should fight the winner of berto vs ortiz, canelo or mayweather should the may-pac fight fall through. (in a perfect world)

Marquez will not be paying his opponent to dive this time, since it's not a tune-up for a future superfight.

i'm not too interested in a fight with diaz. i would rather see him fight tim bradley or someone who poses some kind of threat
