Who has a better resume at welterweight, Floyd or Pacquiao?

So you're saying being a one of the hundreds of champs in one weight class in boxing warrants you a shot at Mayweather? If Manny and Mayweather fought, it wouldn't be because they hold titles, it'll be because they are elite fighters who need to fight each other. And as to why Mayweather and Manny would fight? That wouldn't be for titles either.LOL so what do you have to do to become a "credible opponent" for Mayweather? If beating a champion or becoming the lineal champ is not enough what should these guys have done?
The only guy that Manny has fought who has won a significant fight in recent years is Marquez and we all saw what happened when Manny fought him in November.
In the words of Max Kellerman : "Manny hasn't fought a great fighter who still had it since the last time he fought Marquez and it is obvious that the great Juan Manuel Marquez still has it"
These arguments are (I've used this word a billion times in this thread) subjective. And what Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, Hatton, and DLH had left in the tank is more than many of the top fighters in the weight classes (weak weight classes being a part of it). And how do you measure how much a fighter still has? One loss? That's a terrible tool of measurement if history has told us anything. Let's take the level of fighter they are fighting, take statistics, style, and other factors into account, match them up, and see how well they perform. Let's not measure them by beating the Cosme Riveras and Cory Spinks in gaining titles of our sport.Comment

You answered a question with a question. One loss does not indicate you are done but if you are having a pattern of underwhelming performances most likely your are in fact done. Mosley lost a one sided bout to Mayweather then fought to a draw against C+ fighter in Sergio Mora, that is a n example of a fighter who is most likely done.Comment

And where did that happen?
Not really.
What's your point again?
You're trying to argue a fight you feel was a "clear decision" was also life and death.
It was a relatively cloe fight for the first half, one in which Ortiz was winning. Not, by any means, a life and death fight.
This statment means literally nothing.
False.Peterson was snapping Ortiz's head back with jabs and landing hard counter rights when Ortiz came in all night. Once Peterson got knocked down, he adjusted and Ortiz got little to nothing off the rest of the night. I would consider that out-boxing when you can keep a guy from landing for 6 rounds.
He started snapping his head back on a consistent basis from the 6th Round on. Again, hardly a thorough outboxing.
Yeah..

just remember if berto beats ortiz it means nothing because ortiz is coming off a loss and is clearly completely shot. but if ortiz beats berto it's because ortiz took his soul in the first fight and berto is coming off a loss(ignore zaveck of course) boxing is so complicated! it's so hard to tell when someone is shot or not so basically everyone is but roy jones.Comment

no let's not do that. this is how you measure. did they win their last fight? if yes they are great elite fighters. if not they are ****ing shot to pieces. even if they won their last 2 or 3 fights but lost like 3 fights ago they are still secretly shot. and even if they looked terrible in every fight but their last one they are still prime because they won their last fight! sure it seems like a simpleton way of looking at things but these are the rules of boxing passed down from generation to generation of *****. learn them well.So you're saying being a one of the hundreds of champs in one weight class in boxing warrants you a shot at Mayweather? Lets not forget how the Mosley vs Floyd the duck fight got made, it only got made because Berto cancel his fight with Mosley to go help the hurricane victims in Haiti, so Floyd the duck had no choice but to fight Mosley or be called the greatest ducker of all time, which to me he still is, but it was not Floyd the duck intentions to fight Mosley in the first place.Comment
