Sources connected with former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa have reached out to BoxingScene.com to deny published reports regarding a March 2012 catch-weight bout between Gamboa (21-0, 16 KOs) and former Olympian Rocky Juarez (28-9-1, 20 KOs). "The reports are false," the source told BoxingScene. Gamboa is scheduled to return in early 2012, likely as a lightweight, but the opponent and the location are unknown.

I'd like to see him fight Miguel Vazquez but that aint happening

come on he's with Top Rank which means he'll fight a bum. he'll probably face Urbano Antillion or David Diaz.

I'm not hating I think Gamboa is a beast but I can't take any Top Rank fighters seriously because you all know uncle Bob won't put Gamboa in with anyone dangerous for awhile until he "builds the brand".

If he's not going to be able to land a Rios fight at LW he should try to stay at feather or super feather there's alot of good comp and better fights for him there LW might be a bit too much to bite off

i just saw solis get KO'ed and was wondering what was up with the guy who stopped him before. looked on boxrec to see if he had a date and opponent ready, flipped out when i saw rocky juarez. good to hear it's not true, boxrec should take that date down, it's still up. hopefully gamboa gets a good opponent, still wish he'd be at 126 for a mikey garcia clash.
