Comments Thread For: Andre Ward: I’m A Different Kind Of Warrior

More often than not, the term ‘warrior’ immediately invokes visions of a face-first brawler who bleeds if you stare hard enough at him. He’s the guy rising from one knockdown after another to somehow will himself to victory or at least go out on his shield.

Sounds like Wards in the zone; just hope in hasn't fell for Froch's mind games and ends up fighting Frochs fight.

Needs to stick to his fight and he'll win comfortably the moment he starts fighting frochs fight it'll be a long night.

It's been a long time coming this fight just hope it delivers and theres no cop outs or dodgey decisions

One-sided UD by Ward. I don't see KO by either side.

Totally agree, Ward can mix it up so on paper it says UD.

Going to be interesting how froch deals with wards speed and inside fighting or how he doesnt deal with it. Froch says he can make adjustments during a fight but I'm still not sold on that claim.

I pick ward as well, as Froch has shown at elite level he can lose to JTs, Kesslers of this world.

But Froch is stubborn and tough and thats why he can make things competitive. But he hasnt got a great coach or nothing stands out really other than hes a fit guy with good power, decent speed and good jaw. Nothing outstanding but just a good workhorse pro.

                From the article :

"Ward believes it’s his fighting mentality that makes him a warrior, and his preparation that helps him avoid taking the type of punishment that is normally the case for the traditional in-ring soldier."

formulating your style with a jab and grab penchant

consistantly fighting right on or breaking the rules

crying like you did post-bika when a fighter employs the same things you always do

                Warrior, just no.

All those things make him outstanding. How can you not say a guy with a granite chin, superb stamina, big power is not outstading? Sure he doesnt have an amazing standout skill like defence or counter punching. But put all the skills he does have and he is one of teh worse types of fighter you could ever dream of fighting!!! You may knock him down but he will get up unfazed, he will never stop punching even in the 12th round, every punch he hits you with hurts, when he boxes he has a laser jab and long straight punches. He is just an all round beast!! if he was a yank everyone would lvoe him but as he's ENGLISH and ****y everyone slags him off.
