Seriously if hes going to fight anybody but Sergio or Pirog its gotta be Rubio to really test what level hes really at, or he will keep being known as the biggest overprotected biotch in boxing today. On some Calzaghe and Ovette type shiiit.

Steve Kim was reporting that Rubio was close to pricing himself out of the Chavez fight. If the negotiations haven't started, what the hell was he talking about?

If arum has any belief in Chavez he'll make this fight while Rubio is good he loses at a certain level weather Chavez is at that level well.....

Chavez needs to fight Rubio or Martinez. Cotto needs to leave Top Rank and go to GB. Get a fight with Kirkland or Alvarez. And maybe Mayweather.

I thought Cotto said that he was going to stay with Top Rank?

I'd love to see this fight....seems like a good time to make it happen as it SHOULD be less dangerous, may get him some level of respect/credibility from boxing hardcore, will sell in Texas/Cali or in Mexico, is a good style matchup, and now fighting common opponent in Matt Vanda this weekend. Not to mention Rubio has earned it and waited for a while now.

If Jr wins, it prob will answer some questions we have of him because it will be a good fight...and it's not quite throwing him in waay too deep which obviously is Top Ranks concern even tho he's a "champ" lol

The biggest problem for Rubio is that he has won like 6 in a row by KO/stoppage and that's too scary for some of the folks at Top Rank apparently. even though he isn't as good as some of the other champions in the division he is a veteran and on a roll himself and this is the only reason it doesn't happen IMO. see how he looks on SAturday
