You're either not a boxing fan, or a Floydboy if you're OK with Cortez reffing this fight!!!
Would you be mad if Cortez was named ref for mayweather vs pacquiao???

It doesn't matter who the referree is. Lampley and Merchant will b.itch and gripe about the ref's performance simply because their least favorite fighter (Mayweather) will be taxing the ass of their favorite fighter (Pacquaio) and they will find fault in everything the ref does. Also, the Pac worshippers will be *****ing about the ref after Pac gets knocked out because they won't have any other excuses left and they certainly won't give Mayweather any credit.Comment

No not Lane, he had a stroke, and not Smoger, he'd allow mayweather's favourite forearm across the throat. Personally, and I've said this on other threads, I like the way that Joe Cooper refereed the Khan-Peterson fight. Gives not only good warnings but acts on his words. Haven't seen a better ref for years.
And also makes boxers to fight out of an impending clinch, when one is holding. THAT'S the way a REAL ref would act. There weren't more than a dozen real clinches in the whole fight.Comment

Joe cooper was so fat and slow. He was so out of position fighters were stumbling off his feet and fighters throwing punches well after the end of the round for nearly half the fight. No not Lane, he had a stroke, and not Smoger, he'd allow mayweather's favourite forearm across the throat. Chances are joe cooper would miss critical fouls and accidental headbutts entirely.Comment
