Comments Thread For: Amir Khan: Why Did It Take So Long For The Scores?

Amir Khan has challenged Lamont Peterson to show he has the "balls" to give him a rematch in England after controversially losing his titles to the American in his Washington hometown. The Briton lost his IBF and WBA light-welterweight belts on a split decision to Peterson after a sloppy performance which saw him dragged into a scrap by the local fan favorite.

It was oddly long. Also Ariza told Khan he had won. Don't know where he got that info from.

Maybe there's nothing sinister in it, maybe the officials were being extra careful that they had added up their scores correctly, since it was the first big fight there in decades.

Quit moaning and get busy, lets see what you're made of Khan. Some guys can't take anything without crying, but crying isn't going to get it done. Now you know what all those guys that got a raw deal with you feel. Thats for all the old Mexicans and "close" decisions and early stoppages in your favor.

hey khan throwing combos that hit petersons gloves wont work. you couldnt handle the body shots and got your ass whoopped with or without the penalties.lets not forget the gift knockdown in the 1st and the fact that all 3 judges called the last round even although you had a point taken away.

It's called Mathematics and the Judges were just doing their job by going over the point addition again a few extra times to insure a fair and correct equation and conclusion to the fight score.

No need for paranoia folks, it's called crossing the "t's" and dotting the "i's". The Judges have credibility and their track records clearly show that.

The item about judge George Hill and the score on the seventh round is a misrepresentation of the facts.

The scorecards handed out to press at the end are copies of the master scoresheet compiled by the athletic commission. Round seven was the 10-8 round that all three judges gave to Peterson. On the copy of the master scoresheet, the commission member appears to have made a mistake when copying scores over, initially writing a 10 under Khan as opposed to a 10 under Peterson.

This was on the part of the commission member who copies the scores over, not the actual scoring itself.

The judging should be done on an Excel spreadsheet, otherwise there is room for human error, as evidenced by this...

quit crying about it. Maybe Peterson will give you a rematch, something you don't like doing i.e. Prescott and Maidana.
