  • Comments Thread For: Lara's Manager Responds Back To Paul Williams's Trainer

During a recent interview with BoxingScene.com's David Greisman, the trainer of Paul Williams (40-2, 27KOs), George Peterson, discussed his fighter's desire to redeem his past performance against Erislandy Lara (15-1-1, 10KOs). Williams won a close twelve round majority decision over Lara in July. Many at ringside, and on television, saw Lara as the winner. Lara's manager, Luis DeCubas Jr. speaks to BoxingScene.com about Peterson's comments regarding a rematch.

So in 3 fights against southpaws, Williams gets tagged with the exact same punch, his trainer goes on the air stating it's not an issue that they "just" didn't execute that night, and Lara will come back into a rematch with more of a statement to prove... I don't see any reason Lara doesn't put him down and out, a la Sergio Martinez, in the rematch.

Team Williams will NOT pursue a rematch, no matter what Crazy Patterson states to the media. They'll get him a righty and see how it goes to rebuilding the ego that was the Punisher.

"If you'd equal *** to the beat down we gave Williams, I would say Williams is sore, hurt and pregnant, with twins. Laughs."

LikeI said, if the Punisher does not retire, he needs to fight Lara again, make it happen.

P-Will don't duck and dodge nobody so a rematch will happen sooner than later I think P-Will had an off night to physically he didn't look good and he looked sluggish in a rematch with better conditioning better gameplan he'll win fairly this time by KO or UD
