Comments Thread For: Orlando Salido Faces Weng Haya in December 17th Bout

Obregón, Son. - WBO featherweight champion Orlando "Siri" Salido (36-11-2, 24 KO’s) will climb into the ring at Palenque de Ciudad in Obregon for a hero's return. The first fight for Salido in Obregon since defeating Juan Manuel Lopez is April. His opponent, Filipino boxer Weng Haya (15-4-0, 9 KO's) is a fighter with good speed and mobility, brave and technically sound. He even spars with Manny Pacquiao when the pound-for-pound king trains in the Philippines. The fight is a non-title bout scheduled for ten rounds.

When is this guy gonna give Juanma a rematch instead of fighting bums? This is his 2nd time fighting a nobody just to keep his belt.

When the best thing you can say about a boxer is that every now and then he spars with someone (even if that "someone" is Manny) then that's all you need to know about him.

Salido is trying to get as many $ as he can from his home fans because he probably knows that at his stay at the top won't last long. His win against JunMa was an upset and for me he will be a big underdog against all top-level competition.

Hopefully...I'm counting on JML to win...but JML needs to learn how to spell defense

Can he just give the belt back to Juanma?

People criticized Juanma for who he fought but this is just ridiculous

Haha ya cause its not like Salido KOed JuanMa the first time they fought or that he did in Puerto Rico. Oh ya I almost forgot when Juan Ma first fought Salido its not like he was fighting Gamboas leftovers who had 10 + losses who people were calling a bum before the fight went down.

While Salido is staying busy, Juan Ma is not getting fat fighting top stars like Mike Oliver who are not natural super bantams but strong featherweights that will prepare to retake the title from the man who didnt dominate him the first time around.

Not to overate him,but Juanma should get a Trainer like Diaz.Someone who suits him better technically. After all, that's what he naturely is with a little bit of power. He should go back to basics. He's changed his style drastically till the point where its ugly but he'll be fine with minor camp changes.

Salido was fighting Mike Oliver until he "pulled out".Then got replaced by Yamaguchi
