    John Ruiz Training Camp Notes

World Boxing Association heavyweight champion John "The Quietman" Ruiz (41-5-1, 28 KOs) is at training camp in Las Vegas preparing for his December 17th title defense against Nicolay Valuev (42-0, 31 KOs) in Berlin. Valeuv earned it? By getting a gift decision from Euro judges. Who has he fought that he deserves a shot at the WBA title? Larry Donald? He's right, he doesnt pick his opponents, Don King does. Ruiz should hope he doesnt have to fight Wladimir, Vitali or Toney again because of the embarrasment those fights would encompass.

I think the Valeuv fight is a toss up! Ruiz could win or Valeuv could win. They are both pretty bad. You'd think Ruiz's experience would be the difference but then the fight is in Germany so anything could happen!

                    James Toney
                    Golota
                    Oquendo
                    Rahman
