Realistically, Canelo needs one more fight to set-up a Cotto Super Fight

Cotto would school that kid bad. Like one poster said he hasn't really had to dig deep so we won't know how he will handle when Cotto starts landing his shots.

      Probably.

There both about the same size.

Hell, Ortiz might be a little bigger.

Anything between 147 to 154 shouldn't affect the fight.

The same can be said for when Canelo starts landing shots. Cotto appeared bothered by the few slow, "plasterless" punches Margarito landed last night. Canelo is a lot faster, and probably hits harder at this point.

I think that if you can deal with Miguel Vázquez (very good boxer and actual ibf champion) you can deal with anybody, Canelo already wants Floyd Mayweather for May and they are trying to get the fight done, at least that is what canelo said the other day.

I´m pretty sure that he is going to shock a lot of nansayers once he faces the toughest competition because they have just seen a Canelo @40% throttle... and think that is all Canelo is capable of.

And Chávez Jr. is no rival to Canelo despite the size advantage, go and see their fights against luciano Cuello.

Arum will NEVER let Cotto fight Canelo. Cotto has people fooled in to thinking he isn't washed. Canelo knocking Cotto out would make him an instant superstar in the US. Arum will NEVER LET THAT HAPPEN

Canelo doesn't have anywhere near the chin of Margarito, but about the same level of defense.

He also doesn't apply as much pressure as Margarito.

Cotto lands a clean shot to the chin and Canelo is hurt or down.

That is right, besides I think Cotto sent his brother first to taste Canelo´s power. He got stopped and as a result Cotto wont fight him. Remember Bobby Pacquiao fighting Humberto Soto, Bobby got ktfo and as a result Pac avoided Soto forever... no urgency to avenge his brother whatsoever lol.

LOL it took Cotto 9 rounds to stop a 1 legged Yuri foreman. Cotto is borderline featherfisted at this point

how can you possibly think that Alvarez's defense is as good as Margaritos? I dont usualyl bother with punchstat numbers, but Cintron only landed 14% of his punches against Alvarez. Cintron might not be prime, but damn. Alvarez clearly has much better defense than Margarito ever did.

If I were Alvarez or his management, I would fight Bundrage, and pick up another belt. Shouldnt be too tough a fight, since Bundrage is basically just holding the strap hostage anyway and is pretty old. It would be a good stay busy fight, and plus be fairly legitimate since hes picking up an alphabet belt. and hey, might be a good learning experience, since Bundrage has been around for a while and has a different sort of style.

Then there would be almost all the belts on the line if Cotto-Alvarez happens.
