IBO super middleweight champion Thomas Oosthuizen stopped Francisco Sierra in the eleventh round to retain his title at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, South Africa. The fight was called with one second to go in the round, which created a frenzy by Sierra and his team. Sierra, who took punishment in the fight, was clipped by a heavy left when the referee stepped in to call it. Oosthuizen, at the time of the stoppage, had won nearly every round of the fight.
