Comments Thread For: Maccarinelli's Ultimate Aim is a Cleverly Showdown

Enzo Maccarinelli has targeted a world title shot at fellow Welshman Nathan Cleverly as he starts his invasion of the light heavyweight division. On Friday Maccarinelli made his light heavyweight debut in London with a first round knockout over Hungarian Gyorgy Marosi. With the win, Maccarinelli takes another step towards a possible fight for Cleverly's WBO title.

    I knew it.

Boxing disappoints me when i can see what is coming a mile away.

Maybe he should fight Bellew instead

everyone's aim is the title shot so let him prove himself, get down to 175 and beat @ least 2 reputable fighters there and get ranked...good luck...

Mckenzie, Bellew then a shot at Shumenov if Cleverly hasn't already fought Shumenov.

If Big Macc and it is 'if' as he still has a lot to prove at the weight can beat Mckenzie, Bellew and get a shot a Shumenov or Cloud and win, then we could looking at a huge unification in MS Wales in late 2012.

That would be a huge money spinner for both if it was a unification fight at the MS.

A lot of 'if's' but definitely possible.

let him fight Pascal next. I heard that Pascal needs a tune up before challenging for a world title again, Maccarinelli is a good one, will give Pascal a couple of rounds before Pascal takes out Enzo by KO in the 9th-10th RD..

I think people might be slightly underestimating Enzo at LHW. Myself included recently. But he did look huge at LHW and has big hands. Not saying he's gonna be unified world champ but he might do better than expected.

His ultimate aim is a payday but the moment he fights someone with power he going to be asleep. Sorry Enzo stick to commentating.

Enzo is in trouble against anyone with even moderate power. It is no surprise cleverly then is the guy he's lokking to fight. He's going to get destryed by good competition at 175.
