122 isn't Arce's natural weight and he's on his way out anyway, so I don't see anything wrong with him collecting another trinket before he retires. There are also a lot of options for him at 118, including the winner of the bantamweight tourney or a rematch with Vic.

I'd rather see Donaire face Nishioka, but a fight against WV2 is a good intro into the 122 division, and it should be a lot more entertaining than his last fight.

Go down in weight at his age after 3 consecutive wins with wbo title in hand? Yeah right, sounds more like a way to duck vazquez and donaire, plus all the competition at 126 where are the biggest money fights for him right now.

When and where did you hear that rumor? I live in Japan, but I've never heard anything specific about how Nishioka closes his fighting career. Hell, all Nishioka himself has said so far is "there is nothing concrete on the next fight." He isn't sure at this point of time when to retire. That's for sure. He also expressed his interest and hope to fight on American soil one more time, so my guess is that Nishioka's next fight/fights will most certainly be staged in the States.

Seems to be a ducking move from a mexican legend but knowing the man as a warrior and would much want to capture another title in another weight division, it seems his reason for vacating his title is a valid one given the trend today of being called pound for pound best.........

This actually is a smart move from Arce. Let us not forget that Jorge Arce is not in his prime, this guy is WAY past it. He is looking to ride off into the sunset not only as a winner (something that won't happen if he fights Donaire) but as a 5 time division champion.

As for the Vasquez Jr/Donaire fight, I really hope Vasquez Jr.'s people reject the fight. This is not a good fight for him. This kid is still green. Let him get more experience. He needs to be fighting very three months with a slow increase in competition. Remember he had no amateur experience.
Build up his confidence before you throw him into the lions den.
