Comments Thread For: Mike Alvarado Stops Breidis Prescott in a Thriller
MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Mike Alvarado (32-0, 23KOs), bloody and bruised, came from behind to stop Breidis Prescott (24-4, 19KOs) in the tenth and final round.
Wow what a stopage. Prescot had nothing at the end but dominated in the beginning. Alvarado kinda reminded me of Bruce Lee in his movies..at the site of his own blood he goes crazy. Great fight and a dramatic ending.
Prescott was winning easily and looked pretty good especially in the beginning. Was a similar situation to Linares-Demarco, where a lack of discipline led to unnecessary shots taken.
Jay Nady stopped Prescott. Alvarado didn't stop Prescott.
Fuck Jay Nady, he robbed Presscot.
I'm sorry, when you get hit with four straight uppercuts (not even counting the one that put him down), with your head jerking back and not having the strength to stand up on your own or throw back, you're begging for the referee to jump in.
**** **** ****! Nady should've let him go out on his shield, 1:22 left on the clock, if he fell again then stop the fight. At least Prescott still had the presence of mind to try to clinch. I understand the stoppage but I definitely don't like it. Just when I thought Prescott was gonna finally get a great win under his belt, he stumbles before reaching the finish line.
