Saul "Canelo" Alvarez officially started the second stage of his training camp, as he prepares for his third defense of World Boxing Council (WBC) junior middleweight title. Alvarez, 21, will risk the belt he won in March against Puerto Rico's Kermit Cintron, a former champion and a very experienced fighter who removed the undefeated record of Alfredo Angulo.

I don't really know much about Gilberto Ramirez. Is he any good? And hopefully Canelo hooks up with a well known trainer that can better him. Canelo has so much undeveloped potential.

Canelo is staying very active at a good level.

        Great stuff for Canleo.

At this rate he could end up with like 50 to 60 fights.

but he had gennady golovkin over at big bear for sparring, but like it's been said before, his team is doing this training camp in mexico to avoid from getting sick. love the fact that he's staying busy, can't wait for him to really step up and fight guys like lara or angulo. would love to see other 154 lbers clash as well, trout and martirosyan needs some tough matchups soon as well. lots of good competition at light middleweight, can't wait til they all start fighting each other.

Canelo's last 4 fights have progressively turned me from a doubter to a fan...he isn't some paper champ, this kid can box and he can fight...maybe Kermit can urk some aggression out of him...Cintron stands zero chance at out-boxing this kid though...

At Canelo's age he needs 4 fights a year to keep him in shape and learning. I for one always forgets that he didn't really have an amateur career and Gomez should him some different looks with his foot movement. Cintron will be the hardest puncher Canelo's faced and at 154 Cintron should look good. I read he finally gave up the making the welterweight limit. His last 2 fights were at catchweights.
