Russell isn't ready to fight Garcia. Although they're the same age, Mikey is further along in his career. Gary is still growing and fighting inferior competition. It's real easy for someone as talented as Russell to look great against weak opposition. There's a lot of room between the guys Russell has been fighting and Mikey Garcia.

I think a match-up between Garcia and Russell will be terrific when the time comes. That'll probably be a couple of years from now. At the moment, Mikey is the only one of the two who's even borderline ready to challenge the top men at 126.

Mikey had an interview with Elie where he explained, that HBO wasn't gonna air his fight because he was fighting a stay busy fight. Sucks but i'd rather see that than the Bhop-Dawson replay.
