Comments Thread For: Quillin Responds to McEwan’s Vow to Knock Him Out

It appears that unbeaten middleweight Peter Quillin (25-0, 19 KOs) will make his HBO debut as the co-feature to Alfredo Angulo vs. James Kirkland when he meets Scottish southpaw Craig McEwan (19-1, 10 KOs) in Cancun on Nov. 5.

The only way Quillin loses this fight is by not showing up. McEwan is another taxi driver to add to the resume. to be fair this is Quillin's highest ranked opponent to date, which doesn't say much about the people he's fought in the past, but hey it's a step up even if it's a baby step.

I saw Peterr with a female friend on R-Train a few years back. I said "Oh **** Kid Chocolate how's it going man"? He LITERALLY spent 15 minutes telling me about every fight and every nook and cranny of his career, acted like the girl next to him didn't even exist lol. Cool guy though I **** with him............as long as he keeps repping Brooklyn.

same way i feel. although i don't think mcewan is a taxi driver, he's notches above it but deff nowhere near world class. deff a step up for kid chocolate though, good to see it happening. hopefully we see him against top middleweights next year.

          Craig McEwan

I know Craig well and spoke to him yesterday. His training is going well and he's confident about this fight.
However he has NEVER said that he is going to knock Pete Quillin out. It was just a GBP press release which went out without Craig's knowledge. Craig would never be so disrespectful to any fellow boxer to speak like that about them.
For the record Craig says that Pete seems a nice guy and is a good boxer and he was impressed with him when they sparred. Like all boxers he has flaws and, of course, Craig will seek to exploit them on November 5th.
Its going to be a great bout. Both lads will be at the top of their game.
          Look out for fireworks!
