  • Comments Thread For: Mads Larsen Back With Sauerland Event, Retains Wegner

Mads Larsen (51-3, 38 KOs) has rejoined Team Sauerland to put himself back in line for a title fight. The former European Super-Middleweight Champion will again be working out under the guidance of Ulli Wegner. The German star coach, who also trains former IBF Middleweight Champion Arthur Abraham, WBO Cruiserweight Champion Marco Huck and IBF Cruiserweight Champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez, was in Larsen´s corner for five fights, in 2007 and 2008, during the Golden Boy´s first stint with Team Sauerland.

Larsen just retire for god sake. You were decent once, but will now forever live under Kessler's shadow with your ****ty dicipline and prima donna attitude.

Still, We got Patrick Nielsen and Rudy Markusen coming up..

He got a tatoo saying "Inocent" wrongly spelled on his forearm, plus he got busted for drug use.

He's been beaten by McGee, who's solid, but he got knocked the **** out by the englishman, just as everyone thought that he would come back to regain former glory.

Today I just can't see him being able to make any noise or become anything close to a top3 contender.

        That's Battling Nelson's favorite fighter.

I believe Larsen is his nephew.

            Shut up Andrew G.

Larsen received a major elbowinjury just days before the Magee fight which in reality made him a one armed fighter. Larsen without his right is extremely limited.

The drug-issue was from an alleged appetite dampening chinese tea that wasn't supposed to have any illegal stuff in it.

I find it good news that Larsen returns. He still has something to give if he is serious in his approach. Markussen, Larsen and Kessler all under the Sauerland banner is good and should be enough for the decisive television contract with TV2 to be renewed.

Dude, you're living on nostalgia. The man should clearly retire. He once beat Ottke, that was great but now he should hang'em up.

It's a long time since I was a Larsen fan. He's one of the great underacheivers for sure.

With a proper motivation Larsen should be able to return to the top 10. It's not like he has fought many hard fights in his career.

I wish him all the best but I doubt Larsen can make a serious comeback.

Would make for a good comeback for Dirrell maybe.
