Comments Thread For: Hopkins: If Dawson Comes To Fight, It Will Be a Fight

WBC lightweight heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins is not going to make a prediction of an "exciting fight" for next Saturday's defense against Chad Dawson at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. If Dawson comes to actually fight, then Hopkins plans to make it exciting.

Oh the irony. Your father hasn't been exciting in his last 3 odd fights either, taking them all to a boring decision

When your opponents don't come to fight because they fear your godlike power and you shut them down into a shell there's not much you can do.

If dawsons 16 year youth advantage isn't enough

to keep Hopkins from his tricks then be mad

at ur boy for not being good enough to keep

Hopkins from doing what he does.

It's not bernards fault that these fighters don't

educate themselves and master their craft.

The Racket Squad: Gotta Go With B-Hop

Dawson has not come close to displaying the heart of a lion.
At 46, Hopkin's ticker may have some mileage on it, but it's natural 'Square Jungle' talent. I don't know if any active fighter knows every inch of the ring and how to execute within it as well as Bernard.
I'm not betting against that kind of experienced precision. It comes along way too infrequently.

Dawson won't be coming to fight. He never does. And in this case, it's a fight where he shouldn't. Dawson isn't a powerful puncher or a guy who works 3 min a round. No need to change for this one. If he flurries and moves he has an easy decision win here. Hopkins thrives on pressure now more than ever. He's still good for his age but can't match the movement of a boxer like Dawson.

I hope Bhop wins and fights Erdei next. Erdei won't run: he'll duke it out
with him in the middle of the ring. Then you'll see Bhop run..
