If that's the case, then JMM has the advantage over Manny with the 144 catchweight...
I mean it's Manny's 147 title and he is dropping down to 144 to defend it.

No one will talk about catchweights while talking about Pac 20 years from now

When talking about Floyd Mayweather, however, people will talk about how he avoided Pacquiao if he doesnt fight him.

        truth.

catchweight conversation is for DIE HARD boxing fans and Pac haters only. So enjoy it guys while you can here on the internets

i have mixed feelings about the catchweights. so people have beef with the 3 CW fights???

          • cotto @145 = it was definitely a strategic move, but WITHIN the weight limit... i honestly think since it was for a title, it SHOULDVE been no CW. but money talks, and cotto got paid very well for losing 2lbs. even if he had those 2lbs, the outcome would have been the same. he clearly got outboxed.

          • margs @150 = abomination of an "8th division" title... pac did margs a favor of fighting him @ 150 instead of 147. pac/arum bought that title. plain and simple. but i actually liked the matchup... regardless of whether margs was deserving or not.

          • jmm @ 144 = do people actually expect pac to drop down to 135 & give jmm a payday????? i mean, pac is giving jmm the same treatment floyd did... you cant fault one without faulting the other. its hard to blame pac when jmm was ASKING for this bout... pac ignoring jmm equated him ducking the man who supposedly "beat pac twice". so arum/pac is appeasing those critics.... too little, too late, IMO... but it should be an exciting fight. BOTH fighters dont mind getting hit.

honestly, people are too caught up with this stuff... i bet you that if donaire and gamboa signed up for a catchweight a year from now, NOBODY would be complaining.... or a catchweight sergio vs ward....

so i dont beef with CW if it enables us to see great matchups... but i beef CW fights if titles are involved...

for the first time, manny is the "bigger" guy (although they are the same size)... yet people are already lining up the hypocrisy. haters' logic gets twisted every time.

although this fight is a bit late, i hope it will be exciting... i want to trust in jmm's heart & determination... i was REALLY let down by seeing shane run (cotto & margs put up a better effort).

does he really need the advantage? or maybe he just likes to use his superior drawing power to bully his opponents into giving him whatever advantage he can get
I guess you never heard of Sugar Ray Leonard.

Lol also hasn't Saul Alvarez been in like 3 catchweight fights? And there is talks of him possibly fighting Chavez Jr at another catchweight! And he is only 21 so imagine how many catchweight fights he'll probably fight by the time he reitres.
