Ban glove tapping and hugging until the start of the 12th round. Yes or No?

To start I gotta say that I think Floyd was a piece of poo for choosing to end the fight the way he did.....

That said, there seems to be an increasing trend in recent years of glove tapping and hugging during title fights like its some kind of sparring session or something.

I found the constant tapping of gloves during the Pac-Mosley fight annoying in the extreme and the same goes for Ortiz trying to hug Floyd like a **** after nutting him in the chops.

Get rid of it I say! What do you think?

Definitely! that is becoming annoying, if you want to be friends, be friends after the fight. That should eliminate issues like this in the future. Plus the ref needs to have alot more control than cortez had.

It used to be that the ref was the only one that would command fighters to touch them up when the fight got too dirty and starting taking points away..

i don't care for it. It got really ridiculous in the pac vs shane fight.

But tbh, fighters should just use common sense. There should be no problem.

(ortiz is an idiot in every possibly way fwiw)

Ortiz has no balls, doesnt even seem bothered. He is like the Audley Harrison of the mid weight classes.

ban it all together. they tap gloves before the fight and can hug like mixed martial artists after the fight. first can be a warning, then a pt deduction then another pt deduction ect

but if they're both doing it, they both get deducted? kind of a moot point dont you think?

what they need to do is enforce it via fines

hugging more than once = $50K off the purse and so forth
