Great a fighter as he undoubtedly is, Floyd Mayweather once again reduced the sport to the level of a circus/WWE on fight night. How anyone can say that was a satisfactory end to a fight is beyond me.
Should Ortiz have been 'protecting himself at all times'? Yes he should.
Should Floyd have hit him knowing that he wasnt ready? I dont think so.
Floyd was putting on a great performance and as I had predicted(guessed) had outclassed Ortiz and would probably have broken him completely before the 7th, but he chose to end the fight in a way that would cause controversy and ruin the entertainment for the fans that had shelled out to see the fight. Completely uneccesary and robbed himself and the fans of a legitimate conclusion to the fight.
His behaviour in relation to Larry merchant was an absolute disgrace, totally classless and embarrasing.
Floyd Mayweather brings absolutely nothing positive to the sport anymore.
I cant wait until this guy retires, boxing will be so much better for his absence.
