  • Comments Thread For: Nathan Cleverly Ready For Showdown With Tony Bellew

It’s been four months since the pair first squared off at the infamous press conference at London's O2 Arena and WBO World Light-Heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly now can't wait to finally get in the ring with Tony Bellew.

There has been plenty of tension between the two unbeaten boxers heading into the October 15th blockbuster at the Liverpool Echo Arena, but Cleverly is looking forward to finally stepping between the ropes.

“I’m looking forward to the fight right now,” he said. “A lot has been said, and there has been a lot of hype around the fight, but I’m glad all the press conferences are done now and I can concentrate on training.

“We can finally get on with business, this is where the real talking begins - with out fists. I’m raring to go, I’ve been training well, there’s not that long to go until the fight and we can finally see who’s number one once and for all.” [Click Here To Read More]

yo, my english (and other UK-hailing) brethren (WEEBLER! part deux!) - how popular is this fight (and cleverly in general) in wales and england? for example, on a scale of 1-10 lets say rooney is a 10, how big is cleverly and his fights? a 3ish? whereas the average bloke on the street would have no idea who the deuce he is.

I've become a Tyson Fury fan - he's been steadily improving.

Looking forward to his fight on Saturday, and it will be interesting to see who he fights next (if he gets by Firtha, which he very likely will).

Clev should take this by stoppage, if Ovill McKenzie can knock him down twice I would think Clev should be able either ko him or tko at least.

I dont see it being a hard fight at all.

FREEEEEDOMMM! (says in braveheart voice) - i completely agree - ive become a big fan of his after seeing how much he improved against chisora (still a long ways to go until he's world class), but he showed improved combinations, and he was rolling with head punches, and catching body shots with gloves and elbows. i think after 2-3 more years he will be a top HW behind the klitschko brothers. . . ain't NOBODY beating the klitschkos!

haha also he's brutally honest with himself and FUNNY as hell. he would be funny as hell on 24/7 type show. . . could hype up a fight nicely, and he's already putting asses in seats and eyes on tvs.
