Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez To Face Omar Soto on October 1

Another opponent has been brought in for Nicaraguan boxer Román "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (29-0, 22KOs), who defends his WBA junior flyweight title on October 1 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Within the last couple of weeks, Gonzalez thought he was facing Filipino Glen Donaire, Mexico's Gilberto Keb, but now "Chocolatito" will face Omar "Lobito" Soto (22-7-2, 15KOs).

How many different opponents are they going to name. The fight is just a couple weeks away FFS's.

He fights a couple solid fighters.

It also seems he fights better opponents when Teiken promotions is running the event.

When Top Rank or other promotional outfits run the show, his level of comp goes down big time.

108 is becoming weak though. With Segura/Viloria moving up, Calderon moving down.

Hopefully Joyi and Ioka move up to 108 soon so they can bring talent and depth in the division.

Right now is Roman, Nietes, and Solis.

He should have fought Cuello at least, he KO'd Soto in his last fight in 2 rounds.

@ least it's Lobito an not Soto from PR, who, the pat 2 yrs, has taken some bad beatings, along the line of Chango Vargas, and their repective box commishes should suspend their licenses before permanent or , or worse, damage occurs...
