Ponce had a big gash this was the biggest test for gamboa but all we saw was the old gamboa who failed to shine he went 8 rounds with a veteran which is good but junma beat this giy in his prime when he was champ and juanma was just getting started

Gamboa did what he needed to do to raise his credibility as an elite fighter -- he would be a handful for anyone at this point but need to see what he would do against the top tier guys who have more to throw at him than PDL....

No, Yuri's biggest test so far was Salido, as it turns out. The same Salido that JuanMa "failed to shine" against.

Ponce has shown that he is a better and stronger fighter at 126 than what he was at 122, IMO Gamboa was brilliant and show that he could do whatever he wanted last night, he took his time and press it when he saw fit, and after the seven he became more offensive oriented, I think Ponce was looking for a way out and the doctor gave him that, after all he was whining like it was no tomorrow, I have seen worst cuts than that and the fighter will protest with all he have in order to continue.

Both gave Gamboa a good fight, lol at ppl thinking Gamboa was exposed because good fighters like Salido and Ponce gave him problems tho. Gamboa is only human and he still looks impressive against these good boxers. I made a poll earlier this morning and most ppl acknowledge that Gamboa fought a defensively better Ponce then Juanma.

Gamboa looked good. Ponce has become a better fight.
