Source out of Argentina, with close ties to junior welterweight Lucas Mathhysse, have confirmed to BoxingScene.com that Matthysse has withdrawn from his upcoming fight with Erik Morales, scheduled to take place on the Floyd Mayweather-Victor Ortiz undercard on September 17th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Matthysse and Morales were going to fight for the vacant WBC junior welterweight title. There are different stories going around as to the exact reason for Matthysse's withdrawal.

I'm pretty sure Rios is sitting at/around 140lb right now. It should be an easy cut for him. A video was posted the other day showing him in training. Morales will fight Rios toe to toe like he wants.

Rios is a young hungry fighter with a point to prove. I say make it happen.
