Comments Thread For: Frankie Gavin Hires Jimmy Tibbs as New Trainer

Birmingham’s Frankie Gavin has split with his trainer Anthony Farnell and will be coached by Jimmy Tibbs; the 25-year-old WBO Inter-Continental welterweight titlist hooked with ‘Arnie’ before turning professional in 2009 but has decided to work with Tibbs at the TKO Gym in London.

Let's hope Gavin gets serious about his condition, he never makes weight and never looks cut. He's a flabby WW and not much more defined at JrWW. If he wants to jump above domestic level he needs to be more dedicated and not just rely on his natural talent. Lets hope Jimmy Tibbs can kick his lazy ass into shape.

I was about to say lets hope Tibbs can create less 'funtime' and insists on 'more time' in the gym!

They need to sort his diet out as well. He looks like he's got a body fat percentage of about 30% in recent fights, just not in shape at all.

Gavin has paid out of his own pocket for a nutritionist so he should look a lot better in the future. I would prefer him to seek training in America rather than over here.

Jimmy is a very good trainer but also a very shrewd guy. He would know all about Gavin's lifestyle out of the ring and wont stand for any of that.

If Frankie tries to cut any corners with Jimmy he will walk away.

Gavin needed a change for sure.

Really hope he sorts himself out as he has so much natural talent.
