Comments Thread For: Rubio Gives Chavez Jr. a Message: I'm Right Here!

San Luis Potosi - Mexico's Marco Antonio Rubio put on a punishing display at the Convention Center, as he stopped African challenger Mohammed in the fifth round, which improved his record to 57-4, 48KOs. Fighting with the WBC International title at stake, Rubio continued to stake his claim as the official challenger to the World Boxing Council's full champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

so who the hell is EL VACA DINERO's mandatory challenger? Rubio or Martinez?

WAR RUBIO! I am a HUGE Rubio fan! i suggest you watch the footage of his fight with Akrong - he throws some beautiful punches - particularly the uppercuts he shoots to the body, and his devastating straight right that rendered david lemieux HELPLESS.

Sorry Rubio, you aren’t a cab driver, mail man, or the neighborhood paper delivery boy so please no applications for Chavez Jr.

Rubio's game plan vs Lemieux was brilliant. He can take a punch and come back with devastating shots.

Junior wants no part of him. Junior is hoping that Martinez and Rubio go at it, while he fights the like of Peter Mandfredo and 'contenders' from Europe.

I just watched Rubio's last fight against tomato can ( let's be real) Mohammed Akrong and I noted the following:

Rubio has a great shoulder roll. It's a subtle move that doesn't look like much but he's able to avoid alot of shots that way..

He fights flat footed and doesn't waste a lot of movement.

He rolls with punches very good and doesn't take too many flush solid shots.

His effort is workmanlike and he throws a decent array of combinations...

WBC needs to make this happen...super fight in MX...guess jr sees longevity by fighting a true "contender" w/Manfredo...what BS...
