East or West, being at home is best. Eleven years after his last domestic fight, Vic Darchinyan (37-3-1, 27 KOs), the greatest Armenian pugilist of all time, made his much-awaited homecoming. At the Karen Demirchyan Sports Complex in the Armenian capital Yerevan, one of the best active bantamweights successfully retained his IBO title with a one-sided and impressively overwhelming twelve-round unanimous decision over tough-as-nails but very limited Evans Mbamba (18-2, 9 KOs) of South Africa.

Montiel-Darchinyan or Darchinyan-Gonzalez would be awesome.

I really don't see why Darchinyan-Donaire II shouldn't happen now. Would be a great fight while it lasts. Hopefully they meet up at 122.

vic has troubles getting fights in america but i bet either montiel gonzalez or salido one of them must be willing to fight him in mexico, he shouldn't keep wasting time fighting cowardly bums

Not a good idea IMO. Nonito is just better than Vic, so it would be a very dangerous fight for Vic, I would say a career-threatening fight.

agree that he has a very limited time to be relevant -- no way he should fight Donaire at this point -- he'd get destroyed -- there are other good fights out there for him but he better get a move on because his time is running out

The only way the Raging Bull will get any kind of respect is to avenage his lost to Donaire. But like many people here on ESB - rematching with The FILIPINO FLASH, won't prove anything, b/c he will have another devastating KO instore for him. But if he gives Donaire a chance and not flake-out at the last minute; I'm sure Donaire will jump at a chance to collect one more belt.

I just hope he can do even better than this against Donaire. I mean, that he looks sharper.
