Comments Thread For: Photos/Weights: Berto vs Zaveck, Russell vs Miranda

Biloxi, MS - All the participants for Saturday night's Battle in Biloxi card at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino weighed-in earlier today. The card, which will be broadcast live on HBO's Boxing After Dark, is headlined by the much anticpated Welterweight Championship showdown between former WBC Champion, Andre Berto and reigning IBF Welterweight Champ, Jan Zaveck. Berto tipped the scales at a ripped and ready, 146 3/4 lbs, while Zaveck scaled in at 146 1/2 lbs. Photo by Naoki ***uda/DiBella Entertainment

      Natas's discovered weigh-in pictures > Boxingscene's pictures. Natas KO 1 Boxingscene. . .

Note: See how wide and thick (lol no **** - gotta call that one) Zavec's abs and core is in comparison to the rest of his body? THAT is how you want to be built for a 12 round boxing match - all extra muscle mass should be held in your core and legs (See PACSMASH who has the strongest base[legs] in boxing). I can't emphasize enough how harmful excess muscle mass is in the chest and arms and shoulders for boxers. . . Maybe for 4 rounders. but for 12 rounders not only does it suck more oxygen, but you are also more likely to get lactic acid buildup, thereby inhibiting stamina and performance.

I guess that why Pascal has stamina issues.

And why Holyfield and Mosley developed stamina issues as the muscled up.

Is this even being televised? he loses once and all the sudden hes out the loop?
Boxing is a cold sport. If he loses this fight I guess he might as well retire and it will weakin Ortiz win against him.. Bertos lips look crusty as well, like he struggled to make weight

Berto does look a little thin in the face compared to before, Not a bad thing though. Hopefully he worked on that stamina and not the weights!

Zaveck is pointing at Berto like if he was a fan taking a picture with thie favorite boxer. lol
