Mike Jones Is VERY Well Managed & Looked After. I Don't See The Hype!

I hear alot of people talking about Mike Jones and how he is a future superstar. Really? I feel his alot of hype and has been very well managed.

He's now 25-0. And the best name on his record is Jesus Soto Karass. Really? Add to the fact that in there first fight most thought Karass was robbed.

I also found in the rematch he got lucky when Karass was cut early over the eye and could only see out of one eye for the majority of the fight.

The next best name is Henry Bruseles. Jones could only beat him on points and even lost rounds in the fight. Floyd Mayweather TKO'd this dude 5 years earlier at 140lb. But yet people also rave on Jones power.....

Now his next fight looks like it gonna be against Sebastian Andres Lujan. Really? Lujan was EASILY beat by UK contender Jamie Moore years ago.

Jones isn't a 10-0 prospect no more. He should be fighting ranked proven welterweights.

I feel his record is padded and the fighters he's fought have made him look better than he was. He may prove me wrong, but as of right now am not sold on Jones's potential or opposistion.

Who's hyping Mike Jones? I guess now a days if you're American and you get any fights on HBO or SHO you're hyped.

He has potential & is coming up to his peak but yh I don't see what the big rave is about. He is good, certainly has talent & is very big for the weight but if I am being honest Pac & Ortiz would destroy the guy with ease.

Brook, Aydin, Berto, Zaveck an ancient Mosley & Randall Bailey all beat him IMO
I've probably missed a few guys as well.

Not overly impressed by him & isn't he like 30 already?

I agree 100%. And its not like he's young. He's like 28. I've heard a few people say he'd beat Ortiz LOL

If Pacquiao fights this guy, he gets removed from my list...seriously.

To be fair there isn't a lot of hype at all. He's a promising prospect that has a lot to prove.

I did like what I saw from him in the rematch with Soto-Karass, he had a gameplan and he stuck with it. I don't think "luck" had anything to do with that. He learned from the first fight and knew what to do.

He also takes great care of his body and pays attention to boxing history as well, which of course reminds me of hopkins. He's not as good obviously, but if he stays dedicated and continues to work on his flaws there is no reason why he cant be a very good fighter.

Soto cut his eye really bad in like Rd 2 or 3. The blood was constanly dripping in his eye for most of the fight. Of course that effected him & the way the fight played out. It goes past luck, thats fact.

                  There's no hype surrounding him.

And having a close fight doesn't mean you're all hype.

You guys freaking kill me. No one can have a competitive fight, or else they're "all hype". Even when in reality, there's ZERO hype at all.

It's actually not a fact, plenty of guys bleed like a water fall and aren't bothered in the slightest bit. Then of course there are guys like Juan Diaz who at the very site of blood panic like a 3 year old school girl. Soto-Karass I believe is the former, not the latter. Wasn't he cut in the first fight too? He's a bleeder. Against Gomez he was cut too.

What I saw in that fight was Jones fighting a smart, effective fight. In the first fight he was reckless, especially in round 2 or 3 whenever it was when he threw like 200 punches trying to get the KO.
