My New Video- Carl Froch: I'm not disappointed in David Haye over Klitschko
Collapse

Pleeeeeease, there is no question Hayes performance was disappointing. For a guy who wanted a crack at a Klitschko so bad he didn't go all out.
Haye is a fraud. Never buying into his hype again.
Another good interview and vid man. -
I pretty much agree with froch's sentiments. People who understand boxing know what they were watching, those who understand boxing and the styles of both fighters.
I expect casual fans to react the way most of you did, but not so called hardcore fans. Wlad did not let haye into the fight...he can not all of a sudden turn himself into a Tyson type come forward agressive pressure fighter, not in his DNA. Everyone bought the hype. He was always going to fight that way.Comment

Yeah, David Haye throwing himself on the canvas to try to get points deducted from Wlad is boxing! That was an embarrassing performance. Lets see froch throw himself on the canvas to try to get points deducted from Ward. Lets see how that goes.I pretty much agree with froch's sentiments. Agreed. David Haye is what he is - A natural cruiser moving up with a laid back counter punch style mixed with explosive burts. Carl Froch knows this and understands why he couldnt pull the trigger. He was sut down by a jab which prevented him from pulling the trigger just as Carl shut Abraham down with his height and reach.I pretty much agree with froch's sentiments. There was a ringside episode where the experts gave their opinion of how Haye should fight Wvlad. Barry was smug after the fight when he claimed all along he knew what Haye had to do and yet he didnt execute the gameplan. He wanted Haye to stand infront of Wvlad and take the fight too him making it an inside fight.
In an ideal world we all know how we'd like to see Wvlad beaten but you have to work with the tools you've got. It would have been tactical suicide for Haye to give up his speed and movement by standing with Wvlad. Yes the gamble may have paid off but it more likely wouldnt have so Haye has to utilise the skills he has and not abandon them on his biggest night. If Haye was abit bigger and had a better chin perhaps he could have had those tactics but I belive he did the best he could tactically.
We would have all liked to have seen him take more risks and stop diving to the canvas etc but he made the decision to look good and lose rather than risk looking bad and winning. If he did try harder he would have probably been knocked out so I guess he chose to go the 12 rounds and claim a toe injury rather than get stopped and have no excuses. Given his personality its hardly surprising.Comment

Again...another example of inept boxing knowledge. He was not throwing himself to the floor to get a point deduction, they made a tactial decision before the fight that they were not going to take Wlad's weight with his leaning down and wearing fighters down physically. I am not saying whether it was the right or wrong thing to do, it was a judgement call. They had seen plenty of fighters take Wlad's weight and break down physically over the course of a fight, it was a unique tactic, but it is a unique situation giving up so much size in a fight. Again I reiterate I am not sure whether it was the right tactic or not, but why not try something different? He is a small man in comparison and he could not allow Wlad to put his weight on him as he has stamina issues anyway. The point deduction was a bonus, but it was more about getting the referee to not allow Wlad to keep doing more than anything.
It is easy to be critical of Haye's performance and jump on the bandwagon, but I am not going to do that, I would rather give credit to Wlad for implementing and executing the strategy, Haye was waiting for counter openings, Wlad never game him any, the jab, size, and footwork was too difficult to overcome, wlad didn't do his usual damage with the jab as Haye had good head movement but it kept him at bay. You can say what you want about Haye but until you are in their you will have no idea how difficult it is...I could see that. It is a shame that most of you cannot.Comment

Exactly...I knew what Haye would try and do, try and counter Wlad from the outside, get him going with a smart fast counter and then try and take him out. Wlad was a master of distance and timing on the night, and Haye just couldn't land the type of counters he has on other fighters. I agree about Mcguigan as well, thing is Haye is not an inside fighter, he doesn't throw short, compact punches. He throws long straight and looping shots, he always needed to catch Wlad mid combination to pull this one off, but like I said Wlad was too good on the night.Agreed. The excuse surprised me I have to say.Comment
