Comments Thread For: Marcos Maidana To Return on Sept. 16 in Argentina?

There are strong rumors going around in Argentina that WBA "regular" junior welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (30-2, 27KOs) is possibly going to return on September 16th in a headline bout in Buenos Aires. Maidana is reportedly back in Argentina after leaving his training camp in Puerto Rico. He was preparing for a fight with Robert Guerrero on August 27th in San Jose, California. Guerrero withdrew last week with an injured left shoulder. Maidana has gone through a full training camp and wants to fight as soon as possible. Maidana last fought in Argentina a year ago, winning a twelve round decision over former champion DeMarcus Corley.

you know your fighter has been exposed when he wins and his fanboys still get their panties in a bunch every time the opponent gets mentioned

chino will fight whoever they put him in there with

undefeated ortiz and pre-maidana khan were two very tough pills to swallow
guys many people in the division wouldn't fight (tim bradley specifically)

and then you have kotelnik overseas (in a fight chino won, for the record)
kotelnik has a very good chin and some underrated skills (i want to see him back on hbo because he clearly beat alexander (proving how strong and good khan is, because khan basically whitewashed kotelnik)

i don't know if you know this, but maidana has praised khan for a winning effort in their fight on numerous occasions

and he's yet to mention (though anybody worth a damn in professional boxing will tell you it was a huge deal) the refereeing of joe cortez.

who, for some reason, reffd the last half of that fight like an amateur contest, getting in there every few seconds to find something new to scold maidana
if you want to tie up somebody in a pro boxing match you need to tie up both of his hands
      not one
but both, for the ref to stop and break the fighters

if you can't, you can get clubbed out with one hand (joachim alcine had his first fight since getting clubbed out in round one last year when he was unable to tie up angulos right hand)

chino was a few punches from putting khan away
and joe cortez was doing whatever he could to keep that from happening

Maidana was being dirty iv'e watched the fight at least 6 times over and in his tenth round assault most of his punches were prodding uppercuts and clubs around the back of khans head.

cortez did a what cortez always doe's no deviation there all i ever here on here is maidana had khan going blah blah blah but the fact of the matter was only one fighter hit the deck sqeeling and only one fighter lost and it wasn't khan is that to hard to handle that you need all these excuses get over it and move on i dont wanna get in no fan boy turf war with you but face facts

Maidana pulled out of a Bradley fight twice and refuses to. Even speak his name..And Bradley called out Ortiz and was never answered so I can't agree that Bradley never wanted to fight either...

sounds reasonable, perhaps he fights a decent opponent.
